Game-Day Spirit: How to Make DIY Stadium Lights for Your Space
Football season is here, and nothing sets the tone like stadium lights. At Sapient Spaces, we believe you don’t need to be on the field to feel that Friday night energy. With a few simple supplies, you can build your own DIY stadium light to bring game-day vibes into your home, rental, or office.
This project is surprisingly easy, budget-friendly, and a guaranteed conversation starter.
What You’ll Need
Craft Board (Home Depot)
PVC pipe + base (Home Depot or any hardware store)
Light bulbs or strands of Christmas lights
Step 1: Prep the PVC Pipe
Spray paint your PVC pipe with Rust-Oleum Hammered Silver to give it that sturdy, industrial look. Let it dry completely.
Step 2: Build the Light Panel
Cut your craft board into a rectangle and attach the cupcake holders in a grid pattern (like a real stadium light bank).
Step 3: Add the Bulbs
Fit bulbs (or Christmas lights) into the holders. The foil creates a perfect reflection, making it look like authentic stadium lights.
Step 4: Mount Your Light
Attach the board panel to the top of your painted PVC pipe. Make sure it’s stable — a heavy base works best.
Football season is about community and excitement, and nothing captures that feeling quite like stadium lights. With just cupcake holders, poster board, and a little spray paint, you can recreate that magic indoors.
